Federation Sports Day

What a lot of exercise...

On Thursday we joined children from Sutton Infants and Catfield Primary School for our termly Federation Day. This term it was sports and we had some experts in school teaching us some new things!

We learnt archery, circus skills, a dance routine, explored a new forest school area and learnt about healthy eating! Ask the children how much sugar is in a bottle of coke or a pack of jelly babies - it is STAGGERING and certainly had a big impact on them!

These days are really good for us as a tiny school so we can mix with other children and build our confidence in a busier environment.

RAF Baton 100 Relay

Supporting the services...

This week we walked all the way to Hickling Broad! Before we went we learnt a bit about the RAF and what the 100 Baton Relay was celebrating. We also made our own RAF flags ready to wave at the cyclists.

When we got to the broad we made a guard of honour for them to ride through. We then got to hold the baton that the Queen has presented for the start of the relay. The cyclists that we met had cycled from Lowestoft that morning!!!

After that we enjoyed squash and biscuits at the Pleasure Boat Inn, then a picnic by the broad. Finally we finished off our morning with a quick play in the park.

The next day we invited Celene's dad, Simon in to school to explain a bit more about the RAF. The children had lots of questions for him and found out some interesting answers about what it's like to work in the RAF.
